We definitely won.

What Streamblenda and co. did to that "supposed label/community" was terrible. Pretty much ditched all the producers that listeners on Brainkiller liked and just used it to promote some of their friends and their own material. Sad, sad, sad.

remember the BK Music One days when it was just for fun, good times...

Wow I can't believe how much of a sore wound the BK-R incident still is. I don't think we'll ever know what went on behind the scenes with that mob and since I still have one or two of them as contacts on FB I don't think it's fair to speculate or make accusations against them any more. The only thing I will say is that I don't agree with the decisions that were made and how it all turned out.

Ultimately though, our community has developed from the embers of that saga and we're still going strong. I have no idea where the others are now, if they have their own community, whether they've been successful, or even if they're still writing music. Frankly, I don't care.

I left there fairly quickly after they said all tunes had to be hardhitting, dangerous and hardcore. 'we're not interested in a guy writing a pianoconcert', since I was more or less doing that I took my conclusions :)
Then I came back with the hardhitting dangerous hardcore 'Demon Princess'....wait....I succumbed!

Oh god, I hoped everyone had forgotten about that... It was fun doing it, but I cannot listen to that ep without crying and tearing my ears off...!

I lurked BKR back in the day, and listened to all the tracks and compilations. That stuff was really good. I don't even know about the drama, I just remember everyone bailing and the site dying out. I thought it was because the Brainkiller guy was the only one who ran the site, and disappeared/stopped working on it? I will say that the worst part of that site was the lack of variety. Everybody had "Prodigy" as their influence. Way to stifle creativity.

I miss the Devolved guy. To this day that guy's album makes me feel great.

well BKM1/BKR spawed from a Prodigy fan site, so the influence in people's music was expected.
but MP is much more encompassing style wise.
it's just a shame when they tried to turn it into some sorta official label.
it just felt like some members had ulterior motives.
it was better when it was just producers having fun and sharing their music.
but then again, if it wasn't for the demise of BKR, we might not of had MP here like we do today...
and the vibe and set up of MP is a million times better!
we learn from our mistakes...
there's a reason why we are all still here :)
