but MP is much more encompassing style wise.
it's just a shame when they tried to turn it into some sorta official label.
it just felt like some members had ulterior motives.
it was better when it was just producers having fun and sharing their music.
but then again, if it wasn't for the demise of BKR, we might not of had MP here like we do today...
and the vibe and set up of MP is a million times better!
we learn from our mistakes...
there's a reason why we are all still here :)

i think that's what matters, letting people do what they like........ BKR was being influenced a lot by french electro of those days, i'm sure they wanted to make something like ed banger records, and from what i can see here, there's people doing very different styles, bigbeat, dubstep, trance, dnb, electro, pop, etc

^Agreed^
I love how varied we are now on here, makes us more unique as a community.

But hey, I started out at as a Prodigy wannabe myself. I'll admit it.
:)

They really got me into electronic music and it was what the BK forum was all about and what the members liked.
So I kinda wrote in that style for a little bit when I started out.

You gotta start from somewhere, right?

But look at us now, wee have all developed into something special.

Let's make a new thread where we have to post old songs we made that we find embarrassing now and post them :P

ripping my old "albums" (if you can call them that, lol) as I type if anyone is interested in hearing my old, shitty music

even got a CD i created entirely on PS1 with the royalty samples from the game "MTV Music Generator" from like '99
it's so cheesy sounding lol!

Plus I have a few other CDs that I made along the way when I first started messing with Fruity Loops
Awww, man I'm cringing as I listen to some of this stuff.

That thread was 2 and a half years ago?! It was only a little over 2 years before that when I started producing! And I've hardly made anything since

When you post up the old tracks Michael, you'll see that the last post made on the thread is you saying you were about to upload some stuff. About time, man... :P

haha! well look at that!

well i did rip them this time, gonna upload them to my ftp

first CD is comprised of tracks that i wrote using royalty samples from the PS1 game MTV Music Generator. it's completely written and put together on the PlayStation. Not really original, but me messing around with putting together samples... dance oriented stuff.

plus i got another 3 CDs worth of stuff from when i first started working with Fruity Loops, pretty basic and uses some FL samples. it was my first foray into writing electronic music on the computer.

then i had another album from 2002/2003-ish that i believe i posted years ago on the BKR site. i remember Mo back in the day saying something like "if this came out during the early 90's" it would have been a great album. yeah it does sound kinda dated with that early warehouse rave sound, but it was what i was going for since it's what inspired me to write it in the first place.

At the time, I was going under the alias The Hypnotic Impulse up until I switched over to Neorev for the first BK Music From The Jilted Generation contest. There was already a guy called Hypnotic Circulation who uploaded a track and thought it was too similar. I had Neorev written down in my biology notebook from like 9th or 10th grade and was like "that's a cool name." i always doodled and came up with up names when I was bored in class lol. plus it was kinda of a made up word, so I figured it wouldn't already be taken. I really wanted to go under the alias Mosaic, but found too many music artists with that name. So I settled on Neorev and submitted my "Crank This Shit Up" track under that name and it stuck ever since.

gonna upload it all tomorrow...

i swears it this time
