two comp demos

Postby rolmo » Tue Jun 09, 2009 9:05 pm

I've got two demos to share! both were done originally for the last competition and polished a bit afterwards. what do you guys think: should I have entered one of the tunes below instead? :D comments and critics are welcome!

well the 1st one isnt my kind of track, I just didnt liked it much, the growling synth was very cool but feelt a bit poor compared to the other sounds that are like more clean and rich.

and I liked the 2nd one, it's cool, very dinamic and chill at the same time, but the ending was very abrupt.

yeah I know what you mean on the first one. the growling is kind of one-dimensional and doesn't evvolve much - it's actually a drumbeat distorted to the max ;-) perhaps i should add a second layer to it and change the pitch for more variation.

yes i left the second one as it is now because i had no idea yet how it can go on without repeating itself. hmpf

i like both very much. second one is fat as fuck. i wuld have liked it much better if you left the first smoother reverby drums in only. that distorted layer is kinda irritating.

Hey HV!

hm yeah the distorted beat might be to much. I just wanted to go sexy and raw, you know ;-)

I don't know where I stole the reverby beat from. maybe from someone on myspace or maybe from someone right on here :D I uploaded it to yousendit so everyone can listen to it in its original form. if anyone knows its origin or claims it his/her own beat just tell us! I'd like to know it myself ;)
