£300

Postby Mo » Sun Jun 21, 2009 11:51 am

Just thought I'd post one of the loops I did for EMI.... just to kind of show how fecking easy it is to make easy money.... £300 cash for this, plus 50% royalties when it's used on a tv show/radio show/film! I didn't even have to bother doing any mastering, they do it :D

Hey really nice! :)

Nice drumming and organ play! The drumloop with the hits is the "heart" of the loop...very catchy, it brings flashbacks.
Smart clip, really!

So do you use an agency for these sorts of things, or do you just know people?

Not an agency as such, just an awesome manager that has contact with literally everyone in the uk music business... A company that EMI owns asked him to get people on his label to literlally sample a load of funk tracks owned by emi and make them sound a bit more modern, £300 cash upfront for each one plus 50% of royalties when it gets used... They press about 50,000 cd's with the new versions on and send them to tv/radio/film companies all over the world... They did this about four years ago, and just one of the tracks earnt more than £400,000 in royalties.... So I'm really hoping one of mine gets used!

And yes, it's the same sample that Fatboy used on punk to funk... Only I was given the track direct from EMI to use :D

I'll upload secretly some of the ones that Krafty Kuts, plump dj's, askillz, soul of man etc did so you can hear what they did... I'm sure you'll recognise the original funk tunes!

Jeez, I just realised I sound a bit like a prick, name dropping and blah blah look at my contacts blah blah.... sorry, I don't mean to sound like a prick.... I'm an ok guy! Just a bit fucked in the head though, but it's all good!
