Not trying to sound too schmoozy here, but it's hard rating these--this stuff is really good. It is especially hard comparing two tracks that are of completely different genres.

Yeah, compare a smooth jazz with ambient house, then some 80's synthpop and the usual dirty breaks

Fresh batch of newcomers though! I like the more rocky stuff.
Less dirty breaks each competition :P

Fucked off I missed this comp. Got a bunch of tracks - none of which are finished. Standard, and variety is alot more varied in this one though. There's actual songs with all singing and that! :D Looking forward to getting back into the fray and bringing some heavy back at you.

Took the advice from reviews and went back to Children Of The Bomb...
Plus, I was being a lazy bastard to get it finished for the comp.

On the drum track, I separated the kick and snare to it's own track and kept the cymbals and hi-hats together in their own. That way the same fx chain isn't used for both and I have more control over them. Definitely brought the kick and snare out more and made them some more full and natural and less harsh. I also brought up the low end on the main chopped up synth. Gives it some more growl.

Thanks for the advice, I'll post the new mix after the contest is over.

Great!
I couldn't even think of working differently. i usually have at least 8 separate channels for drums with their own fx chain, then routed to sub groups with their fx chains. But its usually a good idea to at least have the kick, snare, and rest on their respective channels.
